Tickets for Creativity Rocks – Carnival at Seabreeze Amusement Park on 06/05/2020 are on SALE!
On Friday, June 5, 2020, the Creativity Shell Rochester will be hosting their 3rd annual student fashion show/gala Creativity Rocks at Seabreeze Amusement Park. The theme for the show is Carnival!
The Creativity Shell Rochester is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. The organization teaches sewing/textile arts and other trades classes to students in their private studio, libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness, trauma and human trafficking. Classes and events hosted by the Creativity Shell such as the Munchkin Market and Creativity Rocks are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.
If you have not been to Creativity Rocks, this show is absolutely the most inspirational event of the year! Students modelling in Creativity Rocks design and sew their own outfits based on the theme of the year. Hair and makeup services will be provided by cosmetology students from local Rochester area colleges and every other aspect of being in Creativity Rocks for the student designers/models is to build self-confidence and self-esteem.
Creativity Rocks is also a family friendly event where children are more than welcomed.
With Creativity Rocks – Carnival being the Creativity Shell’s 3rdshow in Rochester, the organization is hoping to add new elements to make the show even more fun and exciting for students and guest. “We are so excited to host Creativity Rocks – Carnival at Seabreeze Amusement Park” says Shelancia Daniel, Creative Director of the Creativity Shell. “All tickets will give guests an exclusive night at the park and we plan to add different elements to the show such as a battle of the bands and more art so we can showcase the creativity of Rochester area students” Daniel added.
Another new concept that guests at Creativity Rocks can look forward to is a team design competition. “We plan to separate the students into different teams such as team Webster, Brighton, Chili, Henrietta and more. Students will design their outfits as a team, and we will have special guest judges that will time crown the winning design team for Creativity Rocks!” says Daniel.
Funds raised from Creativity Rocks will be used to help launch the new Creativity Shell Costume Design Center. Funds will also be used to continue teaching sewing/textile classes in low income schools as well as shelters that rescue students from homelessness and human trafficking.

NEW – 2020, Creativity Rocks will feature an awesome team competition where students will work together to create their outfits for Creativity Rocks. There will be plenty of prizes and judges will be selected from artistic members of our community.
Teams for Creativity Rocks – Carnival will get to choose from one of the Carnival Themes and will have 8-weeks to design and create their outfits for the fashion show.
All outfits must be made by each member of the team and members must also be present to model and showcase their outfits for Creativity Rocks Carnival on Friday, June 5that Seabreeze Amusement Park.
Some of the skills students will be working on during these classes are:
- Sewing
- Fashion Design/Costume Design
- Using a Serger
- Embroidery Arts
- Textile Arts (Fabric dyeing, screen printing, fabric painting and more)
Students will be working on a team outfit/accessories as well as an individual outfit/accessories for Creativity Rocks. Students will also get the opportunity to re-name their team once the classes have begun.

Rules:
Each team has a maximum of 12 designers/students.
Items made by each team must be made by the students.
