FREE – Knots and Bows Workshop for Pre-School Kids!

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, the Creativity Shell would like to invite parents and pre-school aged kid to a free Knots and Bows Workshop at the Creativity Shell Makerspace in Kingwood @10a.m!

The goal of the Knots and Bows Workshop is to incorporate the use of sewing/textile tools and projects to strengthen the Fine Motor Skills (FMS) of young students. Research has shown that that children with lower FMS are likely disadvantaged during reading and writing tasks (Suggate, 2016). The Creativity Shell aims to strengthen the FMS of students through sewing/textile arts in hopes to help the student have a better advantage with reading and writing at school. While tying knots and bows, students will be continually reinforced to utilize their FMS. At the completion of this class, each student will have their own custom fabric/textile garland in which they can use for decoration or to continually practice their tying at home.

This workshop is free of charge, but space is limited. Please register online if you would like your child to attend.
